So the Vikings top two playmakers have had their name in the headlines lately. First, WR Percy Harvin demanded a trade and skipped out on a few OTA practices. Things seemed to have been smoothed over as Harvin has stated he will be at Training Camp later in July. No one really knows if this was over money, playing time or just not getting along with the coaches. Regardless, Harvin has two years left on his contract and he needs to play out this year and if he produces again, he will get his money. I am hoping this is the last we have heard about this.
The second big name is of course RB Adrian Peterson. AP has been charged with resisting arrest but actually hasn’t been charged with another crime. Try to figure that one out. He was at a Houston bar Friday night and when the place was closing something happened and the next thing a cop has AP handcuffed. There is a lot of discrepant stories out there already. AP has hired attorney Rusty Hardin who just cleared Roger Clemens. You can look at it two ways with a hiring like this. Either AP is totally guilty and he is trying to get out of it or he is innocent and he wants the truth to come out. This isn’t something that you would think AP would do, but I guess you never know. For now, I will reserve judgment on AP because up till now he has been pretty clean, except you know for that pesky 100 mph speeding ticket.
The Vikings training camp starts on Thursday, July 26th and is once again in Mankato. I plan on making this my third year in a row so next month I will have a live account for you all.
